Pack attends NSW State Cuboree, Cataract Scout Park, Appin.

Cub Pack attends ACT State Cuboree, Camp Cottermouth, Canberra.

February 2005 - Bangor Kangaroos ParaScout section commenced for adults with an intellectual disability.  [press release.]

Revised Cub Scout training program introduced; new yellow text book and new Grey Wolf award.

6 February 2005
Members from our Group joined with the other Yaroona District Scout Groups at the opening of the Bangor Bypass. The five Scout Groups and the Rovers sold almost 2,000 sausage sandwiches and soft drinks to the large crowd that came to see Premier Bob Carr and local member Alison Magaritty open the new road. 

The Yaroona District display included the flying fox trailer and canoes, the blue roofed information display and the white roofed food stall. Two of our busy Leaders; Bilby and Warli

The senior Cub Scouts attended their first Pack Council for 2005. While the Leaders were appreciative of the positive contribution made by the Cubs, the Cubs seemed most appreciative of the pizza they had for dinner.

Joeys and Cubs attend Yaroona District Founders Day event at Prince Edward Park, Woronora. Bangor Cubs enjoyed the canoeing, water slide, kite making, crate climbing.

Scout Troop attends Yaroona District camp to Lake Illawarra.

Nine new members invested into the Cub Scout Pack.

Cub Pack camp to Mermaid Pools at Warrabunda Scout Camp, Bargo.

Scout Troop participates in Clean Up Australia Day by cleaning Ross Reserve.

Mothers were invited to join the Cub Pack meeting to celebrate Mother's Day. The meeting finished with a sing along around an indoor campfire while the Cubs server cake and coffee to their Mums.

JOTT - Jamboree on the Trail hike to Mill Creek, Menai; attended by Joeys and Cubs.

Cubs enjoyed an outing to the bowling alley.

27 May 2005 - Investitures into the Scout Troop.

Coolac invested four new chums into the Pack.

All sections attend the Region Gathering camp at Cataract Scout Park, Appin. The Cub Pack met Graeme Fordham, Chief Commissioner NSW, and he was interested to hear what the Cubs had been doing at the camp and was impressed by their enthusiasm. The Scouts enjoyed the adventurous activities, but did not like the cold, wet weather.

Rikki did an interesting knotting program where the Cub Scouts learned how to tie a square lashing knot and then used that knot to build racing chariots.

24 June 2005 - Scouts cook dinner and enjoy fine chocolate for dessert.

Kotick invited some of her friends along tonight to demonstrate medieval fighting techniques. They had some impressive hardware and when the demonstration began they put a lot of effort into making it seem very realistic.

After ten years with the Cub Pack from May/1995 and eight years in the 'Akela' role from Feb/1997, Akela leaves Cub Pack and goes up to the Scout Troop. After presenting his last Cub badges and performing his last Grand How, Akela was presented with a framed Group scarf signed by past and present Cub Scouts, then the Cubs carried Akela out of the Pack and handed him over to the Scout Troop.

Gav left the Scout Troop tonight to begin a two-year adventure of a lifetime with plans to tour Europe from a base in London. He departed with the Australian contingent to EuroJam, held in Chelmsford, near London from 29/7 to 10/8, where he will mix with 10,000 participants from 67 countries. Gav is the first Leader who joined our Group as a youth member and progressed through all the youth sections and continued as an adult Leader. His enthusiasm for Scouting and his friendship will be missed and we wish him a safe adventure and look forward to his return.

Cubs and Scouts participate in 11th annual 1st Caringbah Challenge Rogaine at Camp Coutts, Waterfall.

Cubs and Scouts enjoy cooking damper twists for lunch.

Some teams pushed themselves hard to compete seriously, while others took it easy, but all had fun and enjoyed a great day of outdoor Scouting while practicing their map reading and navigation skills. The event finished with certificate presentations followed by lunch around the camp fire.

Teams from our Group are marked with a red dot on the score board at left.

Our Cub team, #7,  scored the equal second highest points; what a mighty effort Cubs!

Cubs attend Boree Regatta at Cronulla.

Scout Troop camp to Mt Keira Scout Camp.

The Scouts enjoyed the challenge to get their Patrol 1m off the ground.

Scouts go on Pioneer level hike through the Woronora valley and via Price's Cave to Sutherland and return.

Scout Troop enjoys a golf night. The Lucas Heights golf driving range was invaded by the Scout Troop for a farewell party for the senior Scouts. After attempting to hit 100 balls each we said farewell to Josh, Blake, James, Chris and Kirri.

Water Safety night for Scout Troop. This term the Troop had been working through the requirements for the Water Safety target badge and this project culminated in an outing to the Sutherland Leisure Centre tonight to perform the water safety tests.
