    18/Dec/15 - Scouts finished the year off with sandboarding, surfing, beach games, pizza and secret santa at Cronulla

    14/Dec/15 - The Venturers spent the night with the Rovers building Ginger Bread Houses... Some were liveable... Some.....

    11/Dec/15 - Bunnings Kirawee hosted the Scouts tonight where they took us through making a Tea Tray and a Key Holder.  Scouts had the opportunity to paint their finished products and take them home.  A huge thankyou to Belinda and the Bunnings Kirawee Crew for looking after us tonight with activities and drinks!

    4-6/Dec/15 - Scouts and some Venturers headed to Wombeyan Caves for a chilled out weekend in bunk rooms and cave tours.  It was a very hot weekend so we stopped at Koolandilly on the way home for a quick swim.

    3/Dec/15 - Thursday night say the Cubs head to Oak Park Cronulla for an introduction to snorkelling and a splash around in the water.  They had a great time as you can see by the photos.

    22/Nov/15 - Fluffy and Shady headed to Cataract Scout Park for the day packing all the Jamboree equipment for Troops D713 & D715 onto their sites.  They got to have a good look at where our Scouts will be camping in January and how things are beginning to take shape.  Can you tell who's pile of equipment is who's?

    20-22/Nov/15 - James took a patrol of 6 (including himself) on a hike from Waterfall to Picnic Point unassisted by leaders.  This was to achieve his Adventurer Level Journey.  There were lots of lessons learnt and a great time had by all.  This journey involved both hiking and canoeing.

    20/Nov/15 - Tonight we had every section head down to Woronora River for our annual canoe and swim night.  The night started with the Joeys and Cubs on the water followed by the Scout and Venturers.  Each section finished their night with a BBQ Sausage Sizzle and Cans of drink.  It was great weather for a canoe and swim with temperature in the high 30's and low 40's tonight.

    5/Nov/15 - The Cub Pack had a fun night playing Ghoulish games and putting their hands feet into some very squishy slime and other yukish things.  Special thanks to Emily who came along and painted our faces.

    30/Oct/15 - The nights plans to visit the Water Police were hampered with the Police out on duty.  We headed back to the hall for some quick games and the old Baby Bottles made an appearance...

    29/Oct/15 - The Cub Pack headed to Sutherland Entertainment Centre for the ANSTO Fact or Fiction night.  What a great night hosted by ANSTO with some great science learning's and experiments we can take back and try at the hall!

    26/Oct/15 - It was Halloween night at the hall with think fog providing an odd mood for the night.  Some Venturers had their faces painted and others enjoyed the food and Halloween party.!

    16-18/Oct/15 - James planned and ran this years Cub and Scout camp at Camp Coutts as his ASM Project.  This weekend went off a treat with everyone having a great time.  There were lessons learnt and fun times had by all.  Everyone is looking forward to seeing the report James writes.  Thanks to everyone who was able to come along and support James on this activity.  It is tough organising a camp across many sections at the age of 14.  BRAVOOO James

    10-11/Oct/15 - Congratulations to our Scouts who completed the Advanced Scout Leadership Course this weekend.  It was a great weekend and the skills learnt here will help you manage your Troop Council and leadership qualities in life.  It was great to see so many Scouts from all over NSW come together in Sydney for a course like this.  New friends were made and everyone will catch up at AJ2016.

    3-5/Oct/15 - The October Long weekend had the troop make the trip to Wee Jasper reserve for a caving weekend.  Thanks to the few Venturers who came along and helped out as well.  On the Saturday night we were able to stand above the 'Rubbish Tip Cave' and had a great view of the stars from Angus's big telescope.

    18/Sep/15 - Troop Council determined we needed to finish the term in style and a relaxed manner.  The Patrol Leaders put together a play list of songs and we organised a bring a friend night with sausage sizzle and an 80's disco.  The leaders were not sure what era the music was from but the majority was certainly not from the 80's.  Everyone had a great night!

    11/Sep/15 - To welcome Nathan and Mitchell into the troop, we did some camp Fire cooking...  Cook your own meal with no utensils.  Scouts were cooking sausages on sticks, eggs in bags and creations inside potatoes and oranges.  We finished the night investing Nathan and Mitchell into the troop with full bellies!  Welcome guys.

    29-30/Aug/15 - AJ2016 is fast approaching and our Scouts headed to Glenfield for their Pre-Jamboree (Shakedown) Camp.  9 Scouts are in troop D715 with Fluffy and 6 scouts are in troop D713 with Shady.  Everyone had a great time checking the gear they will use in January and getting their Patrols and troops into the best shape they can before they Leap into Adventure.

    28/Aug/15 - Deconstruction and How Things Work.  Tonight we dismantled a clothes dryer, speakers, Inkjet Printer and a DVD player.  All very interesting but nothing went back together the same way it came apart!

    21/Aug/15 - Bangor Scout Group hosted the Yaroona District for this evening as a private site for the Guinness World Record attempt of the most number of people looking through telescopes simultaneously over multiple sites.  This was part of the International Year of Light 2015, and organised via Mt Stromlo Observatory. Bangor hosted approximately 175 people for this attempt.  It was later confirmed Australia now holds the record which was previously held by Mexico.

    16/Aug/15 - Congratulations to Owain on being awarded his Australian Scout Medallion by Doug Menzies Chief Scout for NSW.

    31Jul - 2Aug/15 - NSW Scouts put on a great new formatted State Scout Rally.  A weekend of light weight cooking and camping in a fun, safe competitive environment.  Another change this year included most of the activities being focused on the Scout Record book and lots of our Scouts achieving badges over the weekend.  The weekend was themed Lights, Camera, Action and the RACs focused on Sci-Fi, Crime, Horror and Animation.

    26/Jun/15 - Not wanting to be out done by our Camp Oven Cooking, the Scouts took to the kitchen for a traditional MasterChef Mystery Box Challenge.  Some great creations this night but way too much cleaning up!

    22/Jun/15 - The Venturers pulled out their finest for a night of Formal gatherings, photos and some karaoke.  Don't some of these kids scrub up well!

    5-8/Jun/15 - South Metropolitan Region Camp was held at Camp Coutts this weekend with approximately 1,000 Scouts in attendance.  Our Scouts got the chance to meet with their Jamboree troops for the first time and begin the mammoth preparation for January 2016.  There was plenty of fun and games over the weekend and we even found the Slushy and Fairy Floss machines...  Rumour has t, 2016 will see a Soft Serve Ice Cream machine added to the mix!

    28/May/15 - Tonight we celebrated another successful year with our Annual Report Presentation evening to parents.  A big BRAVOOO to the parents who attended and volunteered to join the committee for the next 12 months..

    22/May/15 - Tonight we had a visit from a 'veteran' and our own Lieutenant Commander when the Navy and Army teamed up to give the Scouts an insight into what it is like to be a returned service person.  The talk and slide presentation explained what the Scouting badge 'Their Service - Our Heritage' meant from a veteran's perspective.

    3-6/Apr/15 - Our annual Easter Scout Camp turned out a little different this year with the weather not in our favour.  The paths at Kariong were out of bounds and activities for the weekend changed.  With the bad weather all our equipment got soaked and we needed to head home on the Sunday... A day early.  Scouts then spent the night at the hall cleaning the equipment, playing games and enjoying movies and a Hot shower.

    13-15/Mar/15 - With the warm weather still in our favour, we headed to Bents Basin for our annual Family Camp.  We were joined by families from each section and spent lots if time in canoes on the water and just being Scouts.

    7/Mar/15 - As part of his Australian Scout Medallion, Owain organised a School For Adventure (SFA) Reunion evening for all the attendees of 2014 SFA.  Owain organised a Wood Fired Pizza company to come in for the night and cater along with games, trivia, prizes and much more.  On the Night, Owain was presented with his Adventurer Level Cord by the Region Commissioner Scouts.  Congratulations on your achievement Owain, and Congratulations on a well run night!

    27/Feb/15 - In patrols, the Scouts planned, and cooked a 2-course meal in camp ovens with ingredients provided.  There was some great food and some..... not so great food.  Everyone learnt how difficult it can be to use a Camp Oven to cook 2 courses.  A lot of fun was had.

    20-22/Feb/15 - Yaroona District headed to Cataract Scout Park for Founders Day and a weekend camping as a District.  All sections were represented and everyone had a great time on the Water Slide and running a muck in Challenge Valley.

    13/Feb/15 - The weather was not kind to us so rather then heading to Clovelly for a snorkel
 night, we visited the pool at ANSTO for some investitures and Water Safety badge work.  Welcome to Dylan, Kieran, Lewis.  A special night for Tom getting his Try Scouts badge before he is invested in a few weeks.
